মুরংদের ধর্মবিশ্বাসে আকীর্ণ প্রধান উৎসবের নাম হলো “চিয়া-ছট-প্লাই” অর্থাৎ গো-হত্যা উৎসব বা ছিয়াছত। গো-হত্যাকে ধর্মীয় অনুষঙ্গ হিসাবেই পালন করা হয়। প্রতিবছর জুমের ফসল ঘরে তোলার আগে মুরুং সম্প্রদায় মহাধুমধামের সাথে এ উৎসব করে।
